Default Periscope Bearing Color Change?

I was wondering if anyone knew how to change the BLACK bearing color in the periscopes for SH4 and possibly the TBT? I found a referance to changing it in a previous SH3 post here ---> http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...4&postcount=13

But at first attempt it didnt seem to work and i dont know the color codes for the various colors in SH4 or if it even works the same way.

The reason for changing it is i have a new 28" Widescreen LCD which sits considerbly high on my desk and that portion of the screen is already very hard to see espically with black lines/numbers as in the periscopes bearing display.

Any ideas how to change the colors? preferably green.

had simular problem, i bought a "vesa" (universal standard) mount you can find anywhere you buy lcds at and mounted my screen upside down then used the video control panel to flip the screen 180 degrees so it was right side up again.

now it is only dark when im standing up and sitting down it is nice and bright.

they did change the bearings color to dark green for better visibility and size with better scopes mod so search for that if you still need it.

Thanks for the tip on the Monitor, will have to give it some thought and check out the vesa brackets you speak of.

On the other note, i did try the Better Scopes 1.5 mod but didnt see any diff in the color of the bearing display. I will have another look see at it though. But was just thinking if i could some how change the color codes in the 'ini' file, that would be easy but so far no luck.

Again though thanks for your help, very much apreciated.

when i experimented with this found that the color change seems to be dependant on the itemID in the menu.ini. I haven't found a way to make new items change color though... if a dev could point us in the right direction here i'd be grateful
