Hey Ruskov, sorry nobody has posted anything yet.

I'm not sure what could be causing that, unless there is a conflict between your graphics and your sound.

You could try adjusting either one and seeing if you get your problem to go away.

I suffer from a "stuttering" problem when I'm close enough to a convoy to detect it myself (but not my sonar man) the indicator will start jerking on that bearing. That's due to me needing more RAM though, and not related to your problem.

Again, try looking at your graphics (how high you have it set) and your sound.

hope it helps.

You might have a corrupted sound file when you're at the hydrophone station. One file to check is amb_hydrophone located at: /data/sound/amb_hydrophone and there is one other file which plays when you're under water so you can hear your electric motors running. Not sure of this file's name but it will also be located at silent hunter/data/sound/

How loud are these sounds you're talking about? The Hydrophone on its own has a small humming/buzzing sound as default. Can you actually hear the ships when you pick them up? That sound should be much louder and clear.

You could try to record it with FRAPS or your sound card (creative recorder) and post that sound file. That we can get an idea whats wrong (or not )

Did you add any mods while at sea or before rollbacking SH3Cmdr? Usually that's the reason for most of these bugs. I would suggest to try removing all mods and start a new career. If the problem is still there it will be a fresh install I'm afraid

I can remember that I had this once in the past... If I remember right it sounded like a mixture of different ships in an endless loop over all directions?
Does this fit to your problem?

I never had it anymore in my current configuration patch 1.4b and GWX 1.03...
