Was just on an insertion mission, southwest of Yokosuka, Honshu.
We waited just 2nm offshore during the daylight hours and as soon as the sun set, we moved in closer to unload our spy. As we moved in things didn't look right from the periscope, so I hopped outside on the roving camera and took a trip toward shore. Seems there are some problems in this area. Other than the fact that this shoreline is populated. Note the white line, that is supposed to be the beach & shoreline: ![]() Here is another angle: (Notice the tree line base elevation on the right side of the wall) ![]() The camera reacts as though there is land at the shore line but something is wrong with the tiles and the ocean level. Here is where the shore ends: ![]() Though I got the credit for releasing the spy, this problem has an adverse effect on your inserted spy: Here he is headed to shore: ![]() And this is what happens as he hits the shore line that's supposed to be there, but isn't: ![]() So I guess the question is ... Is there anyone that mods water and land at the shore line?

Leo,
Nope I didn't save at that point and try again. Like I mentioned previously, I got the completion notice so I headed out. I continued my mission and I'm now a couple days away from it. All I have is vanilla SH4 with 1.3 and TM 1.6 plus installed no other mods. I can attach a picture of the map tonight and show the location. I'm not so far into my mission that I can't go back and revisit the area, I'll do that tonight as well.

the game or the PC dosn't render everything properly so what I do is a save and then shut the game off then restart it and load the save and everything is fixed. That is why I sugested doing that. I have run into that before while doing mod work and checking things out in game.

Hey Dave,
That would appear to be the case ... but for your information, Here's the map location: ![]() And this is what it looked like on reloading: ![]() A shame, my spy was still burning upon my return. ![]()

it dosn't happen often but when it does just save and reload the game and it should always straighten out. Just a slight rendering problem that comes into play from time to time even happens with the ocean effect's.
But sorry about your spy LOL!!! When I was doing my relfecitons work for the islands it happend to me a couple of times. Always fixed it with a reload. |
