[TEC] Night Darkness

Hi all. I have a quick question. I downloaded a mod that applies sh4 scene attributes to sh3, its the New SHIV Scene 8k 2.4 mod, and while its great, it does make the night seem like early dawn, that is, it makes it too bright. I was wondering if there was any way to change it so that night became darker. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well I guess you hit a sore point here because many people complained, that the night was too dark and you can't see very well even in moonlit nights. AFAIR this is also different with various video cards. Many people tried to improve this and the version you got is a brighter one. Try the search on the subject and you'll find several threads.

Have u ever been in the middle of the sea at night especially in winter ? You can't really tell where the horizon ends (stars helps a bit) if it's cloudy, moon does a bit of help but it also depends of it's shape asnd strength of reflecion

Hi Sovereign, well as Woof said most people complained about the dark nights especially with the new LCD screens, also depends on the time of year & where you are (northern hemisphere), even on my standard CRT monitor at certain times of the year from 7.00pm to 6am the nights are almost black, but sometimes, (try navigation academy from dusk to dawn) the night are quite bright, I think it's fairly close to real as I & GWX could get.
If you want to change it though (90%of the effect) the files are the 3 ENV SkyColors_xxx.dat files, you could always replace these with SHIII stock, please note that Marhkimovs light night (the brightest there is) is embedded into the GWX files as standard!
