Default is it time for a supermod?

is it time for a supermod?
ther has been a few great mods out in the last couple of weeks,
living ocean, dt's sink, natural sinking mod, oaks mod, captain cox's mods, anvarts mods, real nav mod, real deck gun, but some of these mods conflict with others,
and sadly some cant be used with others.
can anyone or will anyone make all these great mods work together?

Have you tried Trigger Maru or Real Fleet Boat?

The problem with a "super mod" is that it'll inevitably include some things you don't want, but not include some things you do want (because other people don't want them).

If you really want your own personal supermod... be prepared to roll your own!

Come back next year or the year after you may be lucky.

Personal opinion...patched to 1.3 and with Trigger maru 1.4 and a few smaller mods, I'm quite happy with this game.

Steed hit it on the head, it will take awhile, the game only has been out since mid-March, give it time. For now I am enjoying the current mods

What the heck do you think a supermod is going to add to the game to increase YOUR level of enjoyment ? Maybe some dancing girls ?

I thought TM was the current supermod.

There are two mods that are growing daily. TM and RFB creators are very active and adding/fine tuning their supmods. These two mods will do nothing but grow into very nice mod packs/super mods or however you would prefer to call them.

I reckon (prepares flak jacket), that TM* + some of Captain Cox's stuff (graphics and radio mods) + tater's campaign files could form the basis of a nice supermod.

Throw into it all the individual ship/plane packages that have been released (with appropriate scripting and roster placement), and it might just convince me to reinstall SH4, LOL!

*Not wanting to undervalue RFB, but I'm guessing TM would appeal to a broader range of players "out of the box".

Looks to me that both of those authors are diverging here. Beery is playing Lord of the Rings and may vanish over the horizon.

Ducimus is ready to take a break but for quite another reason. He'd like to actually play the game for the purpose of enjoying it for awhile. While this may disappoint some, I think they should think about it. All Ducimus' game playing so far has been to test this or that. The real flavor of the game and his own mod eludes him at this point. I don't believe he appreciates how great his mod is. I believe he sees a daunting number of trees but can't visualize the forest. Can you imagine what ideas he's coming back with after he plays SH4/TM 1.4 just to play it and enjoy it? The second coming of Ducimus will be awesome!

I'm a little worried about Beery though. I hope he comes back from his forray into fantasy, but some gamers don't stick with one game for an extended length of time. I like his reality or bust attitude, and other than tater and kv I don't see anyone else really flying that flag. GWX is getting ready for their final release. Maybe some of those great modders will come over here and continue Beery's tradition. And let's not write off Beery yet. He could get his fill of orcs and come back among us, ready to take RFB to the next level.

Then there is the unforseen. There is a genius out there who hasn't even heard of Silent Hunter, much less Wolves of the Pacific. Sometime next month he's going to pick up a copy from the bargain shelf of his local K-Mart. He'll load it up and curse. But instead of quitting, he'll do a little Googling and come up with this strange site: Subsim. Hmmmmm... These guys seem to like this loser game. Maybe I'll look into it. The next supermod is born!

@Robin,

Lately I have seen Ducimus posting a bit more since 1.3. Some of his posts indicate he is looking at what the others are doing and planning on adding to his mod (with permission of course). Living Breathing Ocean for example. I believe he really digs Oakgrooves texture submarine mod pack (which is a fantastic package). Tater is working on the campaign layers, etc. All of these modders adding this and that eventually will come together as one. It is the nature of the beast. As far as Beery, I can not say but like most who are creative in anything tend to stick with a creation they are working on always updating and refining.

Hopefully we will see some modelling of additional units into the game at some point in time.
