Ship's book and target selection?

Ahoy, Kaleuns! The other day, playing SH3 + GWX I choose to identify my target using the book with my periscope. I correctly identify the ship, but eventually over the book it was "draw" a set of "boxes" that show me the fuel tank, engine room and other interesting stuff.- After that target, it never happened to me again. Any help? It was most useful!!! THX!!!

That targeting information appears on the book images when you are at a close range to the vessel. I think it appears at less than 1000yds and within 15° gyro angle. Something like that anyway. I seem to recall somebody saying that you can also click on the boxes and the torpedo running-depth will be set for you, though I don't know if that's true or not.

Within 5 degrees gyro angle, 355-005, less than 1000m, and AOB of 80-100 degrees, and yes, if you click the box, it will target that exact section.
