Conning towers post 1.3

Ok, that really kicks it. It would seem the bug that does not allow conning tower upgrades is still present even after 1.3.

I did an experimental carreer where I made one starting in 1942, at Brisbane, in an S-42 class boat.

Looking at the UPC files I found that the S-42 class's upgraded tower comes about in August 1942. I modified the flotilla start date to July 30 1042, as opposed to June 10.

I start the patrol and then end it. go back to base. No upgrade, the date is August 01, so I start the next patrol, and end it. Nice movie about how the war is going, but no upgrade. The date, August 30.

Try one more time. Once again no upgrade, but wow wee, it did keep track of my skipper's abysmal record, and retired him.

This conning tower thing has been a big sticking point for me, no one else here seems to care, which really suprises me.

I have tried to change the user player units data to no effect cause the moment I load up, it reverts back to the old data, which means there is a file in the game that keeps said info.

Does anyone here know how to manually up grade their tower, mid career?
