I'm just wondering... If MS Flight Simulator has the capability to load real life weather into the simulator with regular updates via online method, would it be possible in SH4 as well :hmm:

Sorry, couldn't resist. I agree with Fearless; having a tie-in to current weather conditions across the world would enhance the immersion greatly. Of course time compression might cause some problems.

I'm not one of those who understands how those things work. My concern was just that if you leave Pearl Harbor and then time compress across the Pacific in a few minutes, the weather won't have gone through two weeks worth of change. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing; I was just pointing that out.
Just like in Flight Sim 2004: if I'm running a trip in real time but take three days off for real life, when I go back to it it's either three days behind or I have to artificially bring it up to date. Just one of those silly things we live with.
