Default Question Regarding Messages

Hi Guys

Playing SH3 with the latest Grey Wolves Mod and for a bit of fun last night I had
a go at good old AOD, and I noticed that the messages you could send in AOD are
far more than you can in SH3, in the manual it states you can send two messages that I have never seen which is request orders and request an escort back to base. Am I missing these messages somewhere ? as I can only see the contact report and status report available. Has anybody done a mod to fix this but as it stands from what I can see is that AOD did a better job with message availability than SH3 did which is a shame.

Any body help me on this one ?

Great Mod by the way (Grey Wolves that is)

Cheers
Easty

The only message that really does anything in SH3 is the Send Contact Report.

And then only if you are in range of a Luftwaffe base.

But yes, you can call an air attack in on a convoy.

I have never done it though.

Can't be fixed without an SDK. It was never activated by the SH3 Dev's however, it was also never taken out of the manual.

Think about it logically, were there actually any harbour escorts in stock SH3?:hmm:

GWX gives you the harbour escort without the messages so it all evens out in the end. For those who like RPG's just send a contact report when you are near the harbour and wait for the escort to come pick you up.

If you look into the ...\data\Cfg\Commands_*.cfg files you will find a section "RADIO OPERATOR" which includes the following:
Code:
[Cmd453]
Name=Send_weather_report
Ctxt=1
MnID=0x3F290004
I activated those lines (removed the comment markings: ';') but still cannot send any weather reoprt. I didn't try it the submerged way though .

......because you can't send when being submerged.
Gonna look into the files again why this weird icon is only shown when submerged.

Maybe replacing 1 with 0 will make it appear when surfaced?
Code:
[Cmd453]
Name=Send_weather_report
Ctxt=0
