I wish my boys on the cannon were as good as the flak gunner. Sometimes it pains me to watch the cannon crew.

For a while I felt the same way. I felt as if "Why should I even bother to submerge".

I soon learned why.

Annie Oakley couldn't take out two Vals on a consistent basis so I help. When a plane is spotted I turn hard right or left, decrese or increase speed, and hpe my gunner's 103/93 and 98 Guns ratings can take care of spoiling their aim. But I want to my 40mm in case they start divebombing me with 747s.

Yeah mine does a far better job than I ever could in fact he'd get multiple CMOH (Medal of Valours) if I had the power. One patrol he'd downed 12 aircraft!!!

Ditto.

I had the plane crash into my sub. That was not a good day for the submarine health. I got to visit Davey Jones and he was not a nice host.

Now, when I get an alert that there is an aircraft heading our way on radar, I dive to PD and stay there for a while.

Agree with you there. I was letting them get some practice on a fishing boat when I grabbed to deck gun from them and did it in one shot. See, that’s how you do it fellers!

I always do it myself as well, saves ammo.

I think the deck gun crews got a copy of the final exam beforehand. My crew is rated in the high 90's but seem to send out at least one wild shot out of three. And I mean WILD shots.

I love watching the AA gunners hit a target almost overhead. Maybe it's the game's programming but you can sometimes see a huge fireball airburst and the plane flying above it so I figure they picked off a bomb in mid-air.
