Need help no sound

Hi everyone
I hust purchased Silent hunter 4 and can't get any sound.

I have
amd 5200 Dual core
2gb ram
Asus M2n4 sli motherboard
Nvidia 8800gts 320mb
Windows XP

There's no sound from as soon as I open the game from the os. It's not the first game I have had problems with on this system. Can anyone help???

Are you useing "on board sound", or do you have a independent sound card? Are your drivers all up to date? How did you set up the sound in the "Sound" section in the game menue?

Just asking questions until someone smarter comes along.
