Default Wolfpack Question

Hi guys! Is there any way to engage in wolfpack activity in career mode? Good Hunting.

Thanks for that link. I've been wondering this myself.
I remember once, playing Command Aces of the Deep, I was in a wolfpack attacking a large convoy. I made my attacks and after some nasty depth charging, I was able to surface astern of the convoy and tried to catch up. There was another uboat on top with me also trying to catch up. I knew better not to get close to the escorts, but he didnt. He got spotted and dived, then I dived too, because the escort was making turns towards our direction. The other uboat got away, but the escort zeroed me instead, and it was he who got spotted! Now I got "his" depth charges!

edit: do you think something will be done about this? I imagine it would be a pretty vaunting task to give the AI to other boats.

there was rumor of someone working on a mod to create "AI" torpedoes. nad equipping u-boats and elcos/ schnell boats with them but that conversation sort of faded away.

there is a lit of hush hush going on with the next update for GWX... the only way to know if it has incorporated any of these goodies is to wait until it is released. Judging from previous conversations the AI torpedo thing is an unsolved mystery so i wouldnt count on seeing it any time soon.

but then again what do i know? :rotfl:

I think the main problem on having working wolfpacks is the lack of proper AI torpedos. Also, AFAIK, the AI submarines cant change their depth or surface.

right... so let the escorts close in on them and DC the crap out of them while we sneak into the convoy lanes!! hahaha

AI torpedoes would add a lot to this game

imagine the danger of leaving the bay of biscay at night on the surface with a brit sub lerking about... or the danger of surfacing to recharge your batteries when close to land with elco torpedo boats on the prowl... your only warning would be the visible trail of bubbles on the surface and by then it may be too late.

i was bitterly dissapointed when i first played SH3 on release date and an elco came charging at me - i paniced because i thought for sure he would torpedo me... instead he more or less just circled me shouting mean words and throwing crinkled paper balls at me which was an even greater shock than the initial thought that i would be torpedoed :rotfl:
