Photo Recon Mission?

The manual for this game is crap, can someone tell me how to complete a photo recon mission? I'm sitting square at the target site (almost lost the bottom of my boat, Hiroshima is SHALLOW!) and I'm getting no hints. Save me?

Targetting (lock) the ships in harbour with the periscope will activate the "camera icon" in the icon panel. Then you simply click that and lock/target the next ship etc. When you have done all, the mission marker should be grayed out on the map and you are done, this will also be written in your mission log.

Hmm.. no more orders... then I must hunt freely!

I never understood the point of photo recon with a submarine, wouldnt the recon be outdated by the time the sub got back HALF A MONTH LATER?

On my photo mission to Rabaul I had to get inside 3 miles before the camera icon lit up and allowed a shot. Then 1 photo was all it took.

yes the ship might not be there but you can gain alot from the information. weapon systems, size, speed, base facilities, lots of things, not just ship locations.
