Default New one for me

I returned to Java only to recieve the same orders as my second patrol. I decided to reload the game before going to my home port. I wanted to see if a different scenerio would happen. I did not receive a message to go to my home port of Java and decided to head to Brisbane. I was able to refit but not dock. Anyway, after completing this, two of my men were promoted at sea.:hmm: . I don't know how this happened. One broke our homemade ice cream machine and the other crumbles under pressure .

May home port of Java has fallen into Japanese hands and I'm waiting to see what new port they send me too. I have a full load and hanging around Darwin where PAC news said the Japanese were operating. I need to see the Admiral about these promotions while on patrol.

A little ruffage is good for the system. Personally I like fiber in my diet It keeps me regular.

I noticed that too. It seems that the crew goes thru levels. The on patrol promotions are sub-levels. You need to give them promotions in base to give them a big level up. Like if you start with an new guy (I forget the rank name, think its apprentice??) he will level up to jr seaman and then seaman on patrol. However, to get promoted to a chief (NCO) he needs to get an in base promotion.

This whole "promoted at sea" thing seems very odd to me. Since when were sailors promoted while out on patrol? I just experienced this tonight for the first time and didn't know what to make of it. Bug? Feature?

I think this only applies to Seaman, they start as Recruits level to Apprentice then make Seaman. I've had Seaman level to PO3 but they don't get the promotion till you get back to base.

Just like the real USN was 30+ years ago when I was doing my tour. Promotions from E1 up to E2, and then to E3 were automatic, as long as you had enough time in grade and had satisfactory quarterly marks (meaning you could see lightening, hear thunder, and stayed off the chief's ****list) Only when you went up for 3rd class (E4), was there a test involved, and the possiblity of not being promoted. I would think it is still that way, but as I said, it's been quite a while since I last stood on a flight deck.

need to hold an Article 32 hearing to see if charges are warranted. if the evidence supports a charge of ice cream sabotage then a court martial can proceed
