Default Med water...reallly blue

Hello, I m running GWX 1.03. No other mods enabled. The water in the med is really really blue. I mean almost luminescent blue. Is there a difference in the water in the Med versus the Atlantic in GWX?

Yes, the Med's water is very blue. But it is that only there. If you start a patrol in the Atlantic, the water is more greyish.

Yes and No. Yes in the sense that Med water is much bluer than Atlantic water, but no in the sense that without SH3Cmdr you'll never see it outside of individual missions.

Why? Because SH3 has this "feature" which ensures that when playing a Med career, the water used is the same as the Atlantic. SH3Cmdr works around this by "forcing" Med water when in a Med-based career.

Hello. Thank you for the responses. I'm glad it was not that my video card frying. Ok, so its the SH COmmander 2.7 which is making the Med blue. Cool. Having never been to the Mediterrannean, I'm guessing that this color is a fairly accurate representation? Is the Carribean water bluer as well? (In real life, I scubad/snorkeled in St. Lucia in October, and the water was "bluer" then here on the NJ coast.)

Mike

PS-Thank you JScones. You have no idea how much more enjoyable you have made SH3 for a great many people (me included). Your simple tools (JGSME, SH COMMander, etc.) make it possible for me, a computer dunce, to make mods work. I dont have the skills/knowledge to go delving into the cfg files, copy and paste this and that here and there, etc. However, if you ever need a IV started, I'm your man.

It si way more accurate than the Atlantic water, be sure I can see the Mare Nostrum from my window, and yes when the sun shines it more or less looks that blue. Probably not exactly so much with that turquoise blue as in GWX, but that's a matter of the seabed being different here. If you have yellow/white sand it tends to look more blueish, if you have mud and rocks it changes darker Around the Greek Islands it certainly looks like that so if you are doing a career from Salamis you have the best colour option

I noticed clear blue water in one of the single missions, Narvik I think, where you have to sink the four destroyers sinking the German tankers.
I really liked the colour.
