I grabbed some of the Pacific Aces mod sound files for silent hunter 2, as i reckon they are better than the SHIV, like when you command periscope depth i will get:
"Periscope Depth make our depth 6-5 feet, eye eye make depth 6-5 feet" Then your hear movement and hissing noises etc., in the background. Or when diving using the planes: "Mr Anderton take her down 10 degree dive bubble, ten degree dive bubble eye Sir" plus many more. This is way better and sounds more realistic. The sound files in the C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Sound\Speech\1\ are OGG sound files. The sound files C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Sound - are wave. The files in SH2 are all wav files so all i had to do is change the name to the right name for SHIV sound file. I downloaded a ogg to wave, wave to ogg converter and am changing the wave files need for the ogg files. I overright these files not uising the JS mod enabler. When i go in the game to test it, they only work sometimes not every time. Times they dont work i will just get no sound? Question: why is this happening? is it the game itself or the sound files some of them are quite large in size (few mbs) I was going to put this up for download when it works properly of course all credits go to the guys who created the Pacific Aces mod for SH2 ![]() ![]() TIA |

I never did any sound mods, but could this have something to do with "loop" times ?
Maybe some of these "actions" that trigger a sound is set to a certain timing, and if the timing exceeds that it wont play...only thinking loud. And another thought, maybe when you convert there is some settings or options that you could tinker with... |

:p good one, as I said I never did any stuff like this, (though I used to play the Bass semi professionally for several years and have a lot of experience in sound studios) Idea...check some of the sound mods here like "SH4-Ultimate Sound Pack) and compare.

Seems like I heard something about 10 seconds max on some of the sounds... Or something like that.
I would really like to use the mod if you can get it working.
