Anyone know if damage control is working? Or maybe I'm doing something wrong. Had my aft torpedo tubes damaged by attack and they don't get repaired. Manual says the crew will automatically repair stuff and you can put extra people to work on it with the Damage control party. I did both and nothing happens. Thoughts everyone?

it takes some getting used to. anyway you have to make sure that your damage control party is crewed, then simply activate it. it will auto repair damage and control flooding.

Ok, but I kept checking the progress bar(s) on the items that were damaged and the value never went down. Cranked up the time compression and nothing changed. I am, of course, assuming that if an item isn't totally destroyed it can be repaired. Could this be a bug?

Drag the torpedo tubes from the subsystem menu onto the damage team priorities box, see if that helps

How do you activate the damage crew to fix something?

Nope, they're already in that box and I've prioritized them too. Still no change in status.

If you hover your mouse over the bar you can see the time remaining but it's pretty usless since it rarly gets fully repaired

Try enabling silent running then disabling it again. My crew refuses to reload torps unless I do this, so it may be the same thing with repairs.

The manual says simply drag the damaged items over to the priority box. I tried and they don't drag!
I had the damage control slots manned before going into action, took of silent running when damaged, but nothing. I saw a remark here that the dmg crew needs to be activated??? How? |

There's a button (forget which, but I think it's the second one from the right on the damage control interface bar.)

Last night I was playing, when i got attacked by an aircraft and bombed as i was diving .
My aft torpedo room was 100 percent flooded, and i started to sink uncontrollably. I blew balast and rose to the surface, and then took a look outside via F11. My nose was poking out of the water, with the stern being about 40-50 feet underwater, the propellers driving madly to keep us afloat. We stayed like that for several hours until DC fixed the bulkheads and pumped out the water. But strangely enough, after that whenever i went to 'scope depth, we would sink like a rock until i blew ballast. Even tho there was no damage or flooding, we still could not have controlled dives. Eventualy I went to p-depth and sank like a rock, until the hull was crushed. I was then court martialed for sinking my own ship. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Now I don't know what the little red bar is with its 0.098 for the AA and 0.051 for the deck gun, but the repair times on the other shots are clear AA gun 1minute and Deck Gun 42 minutes. As you can see from the toobar I have the Green light to say that my DCT are working and the DCT is full, though the green bar on that is about 50%. But I take it , that the sim takes that into account when processing the repair times. I ran the sim on CT and moved the clock forward 2hrs, it was still the exact same times given for the repairs. I did it again for another few hours, still the same repair times left. Now if the DCT does not work in CT , could someone let me know, thought all other parts do work as in Torp loading and such I would guess that the DCT should also work in CT. .. |

I had my aft torpedo room completely flooded, aft torpedo bulkhead damaged, and my AA guns too.
I put in a full Damage Control team complete with an Officer running things. They started working on the aft torpedo bulkhead first and that was eventually repaired. Next up was the AA guns. No progress at all after almost 2 days! And yes I was on the surface the whole time. The flooding never went down in the aft torpedo room either... is it possible? Do you have to be in General Quarters for them to work on everything? I never sounded GQ but they still fixed the Bulkhead and nothing else.

damage control does work. After looking at it and how the sub damage model seems to be working, im under the impression that the devs made some sort of code level change with the option of "realistic repair time". WHen you select that option, look at the tool tip, it says repairs will take longer, and unlike sh3, this time they really mean it.
