I have an:
Athlon 64-3500+ CPU ATI/Radeon X850 Pro 256MG Video Card 1 GIG of Samsung Dual Channel RAM My system is playing SH4 fine at medium to high resolutions(some stuttering in ports-long loading times overall ). What specific results can I expect from adding another GIG of RAM(ie: Loading times, screen changing times, general game performance)-In other words-Is it worth it ? + I am also considering a Raptor 10,000 spin HD(To replace my old 7200 HD)-Any opinions on how this upgrade will improve SH 4 and my other PC games ? Thanks. |

Yea, you will notice a big difference.. windows xp alone uses.. what like 256 megs or more? Sitting here idle with IRC open, virus scan up.. himach (or whatever its called), and Firefox I am using 106 Megs of ram. I still have another 143 megs left.
So, yea, when I went from 1 to 2 gigs a year ago, I did notice it. ![]() |

I recently went from 2 to 4 gigs. I learned the hard way unless you have a 64 bit system (and a 64 bit prossesor) that a windows 32 bit system will not be able to use all 4 gigs depending on Video card ram, and other sytem configurations. Averages about 3 gigs on vista 32 bit.
