Default Problems with v1.3

Yo sailors! I am running v1.3 patch and experience the following problems: 1. I am able to sail submerged forever (from Tokyo to Perth) without running out of fuel, batteries, oxygen or building up carbon dioxide. (I have set all these to realistic in the game setup) 2. no matter what the compression is, my sub sometimes does not budge a millimetre even though the chronometer is spinning like mad. I have to reset waypoints, and start the trip again. 3. regardless of whether I have sustained damage or not, my sub is destroyed (goes into a sprial and the oke on the horn tells me this, and that, and everything else is damaged) if I dive below 30m. What's up? Any ideas please? Maybe I need some mods? My system specs are as follows: AMD 64x2 Dual Core Processor 5600+, 2G RAM, Direct-X9.0c, GeForce 8800GTS 500MB memory. Please advise? is anyone else experiencing the same? Cheers! Rattail

If your talking carrier mode you may want to double check the carrier settings (which are different from the game settings).

There is a radio on the top shelf to the left of your 'desk' while in base. Click that and check.

About the not moving thing. Your ship defaults to all stop when loading a saved game.

also (this is kind of a duh, but) if you dont have any crew in the engine rooms on the active shift and you order ahead standard then the sub isn't going to move because nobody is working in the engine rooms. (that gets me a lot and i dont notice it)

You'd also have that problem if you forgot and left battle stations on, or silent running. They'd become exhausted and pass out.

As for the "difficulty" it sounds like a career issue as was suggested, click the radio (?) upper left on bookshelf.

Thanks for the replies lads! However, let me add more info:

The scenario could be like this:
I'd be cruising and decide to "warp speed" things along a bit, so I press the compression to 8k+. However, nothing happens. No movement at all. Then I go and slow down the compression again, and then she starts to move. then I up the compression again, and it's ok. ALL DONE IN NAV MODE.

So, it's not a question of having been in battle stations, adjusting speeds, or having crew sleeping or not.

Next time iot happens, I'll make more careful notes of the situation.

cheers till then.....

Sounds like very wierd issues. I'd suggest a full uninstall and reinstall. Apply patch and start a brand new spanking career. Might help. I've never seen any of the issues you mention (that couldn't be explained by exhausted/missing crew or prior damage to the boat)

ok, thanks - I'll try that. I also want to load mods, so I'll do it all at the same time, then restart the career.

cheers mates!

Thanks for the tip there! That guide is really helpful. However, what do I do to get the mods themselves? I see they are mostly from FileFront but I get an error: "Access denied. Invalid user name or password"

Small files don't give this error.
ANy ideas?

cheers.
