Default What to do with my renown?

Hi there!

I've got now a bit more then 10.000 renown. It is late 40' (october 19th) and iam in the flottile that starts in Kiel.

First I started with the II boat, upgraded to a VII which i kept until now. I upgraded it with the twin-flak gun and the KDG hydrophone. Also bought the "kapselgebläse".

Now what to do? Should i switch to a different flottile? Should I keep the boat or upgrade to a VIIc ? (I like the high surface speed at the moment...).

Also what to do with the promotions? Should i promote my officers first or should ipick the petty officers as well. At the moment i have 3 promotions left.

How many gunners and flak guys do you train?

I think i have enough people in all areas (1x medic, 1x flak, 1x gunner, 2x watch, 3x torpedo, 1x repair, 1x sonar)

Jup thats it i think

Need some advise from other Kaleun's

So far my plan is to stick to my trusty vii upgrade to a new con tower and install albrich when it comes. Though i would like to travel a bit in the med. sea

Oh more torpedos would be great

Played a singleplayer mission recently with the XXI boat. That thing is just great

Large amounts of Renown are important later in the war when you will need all the latest gizzmoes to survive. Usually I start with a VIIB and change to IXC once I have the oportunity. After that I just stick with it and keep upgrading it all the time. After 1943 upgrades are a matter of survival

If it was me, I would get type IXB boat ... hey more torp would be great, right It will cost you 7500 renown. You still have 2500 in your pocket, which can be used to upgrade your sonar. Or do like Melnibonian, get the type IXC.

Are you playing stock SH3 or any of the mods? In any case check the relevant manuals and you will see all the dates and flotilas for the U-Boats throughout the war.

The first thing I do when I get a little renown is to spend it on some totaly narley furry dice and flame decals. Looks great on the side of my boat.
