I was wondering if anybody has managed to run into one
yet. (or worse 4 of them)

if so leave your impressions id love to hear a sea story.

I've been held down by River Class DEs for as long as nine hours. I can't be sure it was always a River 2 though as I don't use external view. I'm also not sure I fear them any more than a Buckley...

I'm in Oct 43 and haven't been sunk. Yet.

the distinguishing diffierence between River FF type 2 and the River DE (Buckey too) is a hedgehog.
that should make them easy to ID even without external.

if he held you down 9 hrs did he really suck or did the experience?

On one occasion a convoy came across my path so I went deep and sat there for 15 or 20 minutes and everything looked good as they got closer then the next thing it's ear plug time. Come on how the hell did they know? Did Bernard fart and they heard that no, Bernard is off the beans.

honestly im not sure how it happened i might have saved a dat
when I had the mission intelligence jacked up thats all I can think
that may have done it.

but the overall impression I get from fighting them myself is
that not only do they have claws and teeth
but somehow they seem a little
smarter than the average bear..............
