Question about Run Silent, Run Deep

I was curious about what the author of the book, (Edward Beach, who I think is an awesome writer.) hated so much about the film?

Well I don't know but I was miffed at not knwing if they got the ship they were shooting at in the intro.:p

If you read the book, and then watch the movie, it won't surprise you to find out that Burt Lancaster was (I think) Executive Producer of the Movie.

That was sooooome big ego on that guy!
