Default mods for silent hunter 3 or 4

hi there everyone

could some one tell me if it is possible if you call reload the map from the game before on to the current one so that as you navigate the shallower water you could take depth soundings and record them on your map, therefore making it like a actual sea map , i have not been able to figure out how to actually write on map like you can in sh2, also what about a mod that allows you to operate engines, stern and bow plains independently, foe example orders might go something like this

port eng, back two thirds .
starb eng, ahead full.
or
stop port eng , allowing for maint and damage control .
or
bow plains down up ???? , stern down ????
what do people think , i am only new to this find me at sgtfoxhound@optusnet.com.au

Hi there, matey, and welcome to subsim!
I have also missed the possibility to write on the map... There was a thread some time ago, where someone collected other peoples depth measures, to make a depth chart. I dont know how this went, but the idea is excellent! The separate engine thing cant be done AFAIK. This part is hard coded in the game, and i dont think SHIV will imply this either.
