Default Changing Button Configuration

I need help changing a few of my button configurations.

I found the file I need to change the buttons in but I don't know how.

I wish to make the backspace key, previously the pause key, bring the time compression down to x1 instantly.

Then I want the pause/break key (Right of Scroll Lock above Page Up key) to be the pause key. Keeping me from having to use the + and - keys to warp in and out of tc.

Anyways, since I'm rather dense in changing cfg files I would need detailed assistance, but any would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again.

Try the program when you are not drunk, then you´ll be able to figure out how it works...

I used Setkeys and its a great program, however, somehow , something got screwed up and the game would not run properly. Someone then sent me an original config file that I loaded over the altered one and it restored everything back to original. Then I saved that in a backup file, made the basic changes that I wanted with setkey, saved that config file and left it alone. There were certain changes that the game did NOT like for some reason. What I did withoug problems is de-activate the fire torpedo with Ener key, and set Enter to return to 0 time compression, set Page up and page down to fully raise and lower the scope, and added set course to view and set view to course. I hope this helps. Joe S

Hi. I'm Cavalier889, and I wrote SetKeys. There are some keys that the game uses as hard-coded inputs. The arrow keys, the page keys and some others are not editable. Although SetKeys tells the program that you want those keys, they are pre-empted by the code. I think I noted the most common hard-coded keys in the readme, but I may have missed some. SetKeys is a great tool to experiment with, but I can't say that every combination will work; that's why it is imperitive that you back up your .cfg files before you start. Good luck to you!

I realize that this is an older thread but can you tell me if this utility works for the current GWX mod too?

Or could someone point me to how I could otherwise change one single key All I would like to change is to use the 'enter' key for firing torpedo's again, because I miss having a key for that. The rest works fine for me.

Thanks in advance.

You can use SetKeys with GWX. I did. I wanted my TC to go back to 1x when I press enter, so I used it for that. Also, the latest version of SetKeys is 1.3. 1.3 lets you modify the commands.de file for those who need to.
