Default New tool maybe?

Learning as I am, I get REAL tired of modding a sh*t load of files
with Notepad, Hex editers, and such.
THEN find out they cause CTD!!
I'm looking at doing a Drag and Drop tool that can do all the work for me.
Face it, if you do a task OVER and OVER with the SAME files,
a tool CAN be written to do it!!!

Any suggestions as to where I should start and any data bases that could
speed the development time will help.

This will be a C++ application.

Thanks

1) What are you looking to mod?

2) Are you aware of TimeTraveller's tools for SHIII?

Yes Sir! I am very aware and have them!
Still, I have to resort to hex edit, notepad, Pack3d and such.
Now I am a New Guy here, but I'm a pretty good programmer
with other game modding stuff in my back pocket.
Granted, I still need to figure out some stuff with SH3 but!
What I'm learning by digging through the threads hear, I can see
no reason A new tool can not be created that would allow
one to drag a ship (For example) into a window.
Then you would have several options.
Clone? (For 1)
Zon, Sim, Val, all that stuff could come up with, again, drag and drop options.
It could assign to roster and stuff also!

And before anyone thinks I'm putting down ANYONE or the tools they created,
NO! I AM NOT!!! They and thier tools gave me the idea to take it to the next step!
AND I will credit each and everyone of them!
Also, should I get even part of it done I will release it here, and ONLY here!!!
