Default GWX - Impressions

The intro scene is really cool!

The lit ships are really great.

The added info on the F1 command is awesome.

I love the harbor addons.....

Maybe now I should at least crank up the diesels....

Back on topic. I really like the labels added to the nav map. Maybe I would have chosen a different font, but hey it works anyways.

Love the new ships. They look great! Especially the lights. And I really like the new intro movie. Das Boot is great and all, but the real footage is awesome...It makes the game feel a bit more like a U-boat sim instead of a trailer for the movie.

I swear that I am dyslexic. Seems like every fax I send I am transcribing numbers.

I'll post some photos here after a bit if I can figure it out, I've never done that before.....

Spotted a new small coast fishing boat...sunk same with cannon, cannon is great

Oh, hell, first patrol and all is just fantastic! Truely a rebirth once again!

great exp

1 minor quibble, anyone noticed that time to end reports are a bit off...for example, time to end jumped from 2-3-1 in 3 attempts and the range to end went from 35k to 46k

apart from that i really like the new scenes...not shot anything yet tho...

I ran into some Swordfish torpedo planes in June of '40. Now normally that's an automatic crash dive. I do not slug it out with planes as a rule. But since this is my first go-round with GWX, I decided what the hell, they're slow Swordfish biplanes, I can take them out. So let's see how they changed them.

I can only tell you one thing, after this experience: DO. NOT. MESS. WITH. THE. PLANES.

I shot down 3 but they have PINPOINT accuracy with bombs now. There's no more of this lazy circle crap that the planes used to do. Now they fly high, drive steep, and make you cry for momma. I took damage to every compartment (luckily nothing too serious) when a bomb landed right on my forward deck.

Nice work, guys

Here is something I found.

I play with no god mode running but when I was leaving port, there was ships all over the map. I zoomed in and the plots turned into ships.

I thought crap, I screwed up and picked the wrong button for god mode.

Then when I got further and further from port, the plots started to disappear off the map. :hmm:
