Steed, to get rid of PC madness in the UK, people should use notebooks instead.

Ok, that was lame. I will tell a real joke about pc instead.
But first of all, did you know what happens when you tell a joke to a German?
Once he has understood the punch line he tells the joke again and explains it to you.

Now the joke which I will explain afterwards:
The joke is about pc language in a way.
I once met a fancy old lady in Cornwall, one of those old ladies who colour their grey hair so that it looks pink or blue, who knit ponchos for their little Pinscher dogs and who repeat themselves very often. She was my bed and breakfast host for some days. She used to tell this to every new guest: “My husband died- excuse me the word- on the “toilet”.

Funny, is not it?

The old lady is using the ambiguity of the word “toilet” to describe the circumstances of her husband’s death. She leaves people wondering if she is telling that her husband died in the toilet (room) or –as a matter of fact- while he was sitting on it (the toilet).
On a second thought it becomes even better:
Old English ladies would never use the word “toilet” unless they can’t avoid it. Queen Victoria still rules in Britannia when it comes to things like sexuality, body fluids or the use of naughty or ugly words, in other words: offensive language.
Here, she could not have avoided using the word “toilet”.
If she had used the word which she normally would have used, “powder room”, it would have been:

“My husband died in the “powder room” :-)

Me thinks I will now go and tell and explain some of my favourite jokes to the hitchhikers that I keep chained in the basement.
