I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or dealt with. With my luck It has but how do I use SH3 Gen properly with SH3 COmmander? Do I Rollback SH3 COmmander first or do I write the SH3 Gen files on top? I tried searching but it tells me that SHE and Gen are too short to use in the search.

I run SHCommander to start the game and then once I'm outside the harbour I save the game quit and then run SH3Gen against the same save filename. Then restart the saved game with commander again. Working fine so far for me.

Thanks alot. So I'm assuming then that SH3 Gen and SH3 Commander change different files and that there's no overlap?

If there is any overlap I haven't seen any ill effects. I don't think they touch the same files though.

There's no conflicts - they are perfectly compatible with each other.

Were Do I look for saved files in SH3 ? I need to start in this comunity because Iam loving tghis sim more than my Il2 . Getting older and having difficultty shooting small dots in the air I love the sea so here Iam . Wouldnt Mind joinning a uboat sqaudron .
Iam using The NGYM and alos sh3 comander and Sh3 Gen , But have been usnsuccesful in locating my saved files . Iam now on my 3rd patorl and Iam tracking a convoy that is heading N by North east towrds england in Grid Be 45 { ithink that is right } I have sunk a small freighter and a meduim sized frieghter . after that I was attacked by a corvette and 2 hunt class destroyers . I went to 100 Meters and sailed at 2 knts until the Am . I have surfaced and and recharged my batterys and now still on that same heading have sporadic contacts , because the fog has gotten bad . Your saved files are in "My Documents" in the SH3 folder.

Normally I run SH3 Gen first, then start the game via SH3 commander, never had a problem.

I'm sure you can load the game first if you want, as long as you don't begin your current patrol, but if you load the game first, you'd have to minimize it, then apply SH3gen to latest save, then maximize game and load patrol, so you'd really be doing more work than is necessary.
So in the same way, when you save/exit, you don't have to exit the game completely, but as long as you're out of the patrol, you can minimize, re-apply Gen to latest save, maximize and then load Patrol again. Last edited by fredbass; 11-08-06 at 12:36 PM. |
