Starting patrol with IIA or IID

I'm interested in starting a new patrol with the IIA or the IID.
Starting in Kiel or Wilhelmshaven.

Any suggestions how to play or where to sail out ?
I guess i should be hunting freighters in the North Sea and not from the British coastlines?

Or maybe save my 5 torpedoes for bigger targets, for example battleships, cruisers, aircraft carriers.

Would be awesome to sink a British battleship out in the sea, or docked in a port.
Maybe try to sneek into Scapa Flow ?

especially with your last torpedo
because you dont have deckgun to finish the target

Yes. If mostly played with the typ IX uboat and a bit the VIIB and regular VIIC.

Just looks fun to play with IIA and IID.
Short missions. Raiding and stalking British coastlines and return back to port.

yeah, having short missions with Type IX too, but I raid several harbors usually
