Old games I still play, Dungeon Siege 1 and 2 and Rome Total War, I re-installed the latter about a year ago intending to play it on this Win 10 machine, the installation went without a hitch, the only thing wrong with it was that it wouldn't bloody start.
So off I went to https://www.twcenter.net/ to find out why it wouldn't start, and the answer was (Microsoft KB3086255 has disabled the game drivers that had copy protection on the disks) for your own safety might I add, where have I heard that bollocks before?. There is a solution to this problem but I don't think I'm allowed to tell anyone on the open forum what that solution is, anyway, long story short, I still have a lot of old pals on twcenter forums and some of them are Moderators, a PM later and I was told to get rid of a certain Microsoft update or find another source that bypasses using the disks, Ooops, I hope that wasn't too obvious a rule break. So what's the point of this post you muppet, ah yes, everyone should check their old games and if they don't work you can blame Microsoft as usual, and go look for an alternative way to access material that you have legally purchased, I can't tell you the website I got mine from but if you know how to search the web you'll find a source easy enough. ![]()
