Browse through the SubSim Downloads section, SH4 (since you've posted in the SH4 section),
Graphics Mods, Ships, and see if there aren't some Merchants in there somewhere. You might have to dig a bit, but someone did a bunch of them not too long ago, though there are not real "Objectives" aka: "Assignments" to complete, but you could noodle in the Single Mission area.
