And let’s say that gender dysmorphia is a mental illness (an idea that is still debated by experts). Do you think that people calling trans people “deranged” on the internet is going to improve their mental state? Will it be more effective than support from qualified mental health professionals? As someone who suffers from what is undisputedly a mental illness (depression), I can tell you that the answer to both is a resounding no.
