I don't know the content of the group you are encountering that has the BB Queen Elizabeth, but one little fine point about SH4 is that the "leader" vessel of the grouping is what determines whether you have a convoy or a Task Force. You might have 15 capital ships with 12 destroyers, but the leader is a regular tanker, or a regular freighter, and your targeting will say it's a "Convoy". However, you put a CL in as leader of a convoy with say one escort DE, and that same system will say you've got a "Task Force". When you think about it though, there do have to be some rules around here...
- Also, some rather large capital ships were used as "escorts", or rather, as an "accompanist", since it is kind of difficult to cut knuckles, like an escort, in a BB... They did have to look out for the BB Bismarck and others of that ilk though...
