Correct. The G7a was prone to overheating at faster speeds.
Slow = 30 kts
Medium = 40 kts
Fast = 44 kts
The "Medium" setting gives you a 25% speed increase, for a slight increase in risk of early detonation.
The "Fast" setting only gives you a 10% speed increase over "Medium" for a much greater risk of losing the torpedo early.
Thus, you should carefully assess whether the "Fast" setting is warranted, before using it.
Also, the greater the distance, the more time the torpedo will be running... therefore, the greater chance of it going off early.

Correct. Your renown is affected by your "Realism Percentage".
