But there are big differences among the game publishers, ones who give their development teams the necessary time and money to allow a development of well tested games and others who are not very interested in such development processes.

Oh, believe me, I understand what you're saying. At least, in the case of the SH series, the game isn't left to rot with no patches to fix anything as a certain other 3 letter named publisher tends to do with games in a niche market. At least the devs get a chance to repair the important stuff.
I'd much rather have a good sim with a few minor problems that get fixed (either by modders or the devs) than a crappy one that the publisher refuses to do anything about.
