IIRC its 3 patrols or 6 months in a flotilla before you can transfer
Hopefully your 5 patrols have taken longer than that
Not sure why the armed tub didnt chase you

Sometimes the sunk icons are grey due to sinking outside of visual range
Sinking by weather
Sinking when only picked up on radar
But can also happen in other stoopid SH3 ways
As long as the sinking is in your log no need to worry really
