With each patrol your crew will get better. Promotions and medals will help. Once you get 3 machinist qualified petty officers, your engine room problems will ease.
Very important to have as many qualified in repair as possible. I have an officer and PO. Will get another PO qualified on my retun to base.
A strong repair crew may save your boat.
