They could open all muzzle doors at once. I thought I'd remembered, from the SubSchool interlock lecture, that only one at a time was possible to minimize flooding risk. Went to the on-line torpedo manual and read up on tube mechanics and interlock series (at 3AM--is my life working out or what?) Turns out I misremembered from 26 years ago.
Most important interlock is the breech door-muzzle door. Openning the breech while the muzzle is open can ruin your whole day. Other interlocks are gravy. |
So could US Subs then open all the tube doors together thern or not?
