This happened to me the other day. I was going after a cargo ship its july 1940. I had my deck Gun crew ready. I sank it and then my CE was shouting "we're taking damage", i looked at the subs compartments and noticed every one in my diesil room dead and one guy in my aft wardroom. Then i looked on the map and didnt see any warships. All of a sudden it said i was dead. Uboat Destroyed?????? I dont know why, i was in the open ocean, so a mine would be out of the question, and a plane wouldnt have the range. So i dont know why, it ended a really good career.
