That is not the point of my post though. The point is - they can't touch then - 101? That's an incredibly low number in a hostile environment and it is due to technology. It's actually an unbelievable number that can not even be compared to in any other time in history!

This is a lot in due to our hard working engineers we have that constantly keep coming up with things to keep our troops safe, and that is why I wrote my post. To put it into perspective, over 50,000 men were killed in Vietnam in less time.

OK, I get your meaning now. July 1 thru July 3 1863 52,000 casualties, all Americans. Gettysburgh. Your point on technology also applies to what we call collateral damage. Much reduced. Most deaths we see in Iraq are Iraqi upon Iraqi.

Anyone claiming the US presence instigates the violence should look at the tribal nature of Iraq and the northern Kurdish sectors of the country.
