So I was just about to order a CVA Scout in 45-70 after seeing how poorly most 450 bushmaster bolt actions seem to feed, but then I started looking at frugal night vision rifle scope options and it seems like 45-70 isn't so great for shock in regard to scopes? What rifle & night vision rifle scope would you chose if you wanted to hunt wild hogs on your own ranch property at night in Texas? Probably only taking one animal at a time.

I've already got a bolt action .308 that I could probably use, but I kind of liked the idea of having some artillery.

If peep sights were good enough for the old buffalo hunters shooting from 200 or more yards away. They ought to be good enough to hit the boiler room of a hog from 50. If night vision is a problem just eat more carrots.
