You can find the v1.4 patch for SH4
here.
That being said your better off getting v1.5 which can be found in the Subsim Store and is called
Silent Hunter 4 Gold Edition. Scroll down the page and you'll find the info.
v1.5 is what most mods these days are made for nowadays.
