I got the Code message in the captains log but not on the radio so I could translate but not transport it back to the messages book. Thought something was wrong so saved the game and exited.
Guess I will have to start the 24 hrs mission again.

Exit the designated zone and save/reload the game. Next time when you enter your designated patrol area , patrol timer will be restarted...

Yes, it happens sometimes...Not really sure why...
