In the meantime, I've just CTD'd in the SM... ratz... About 1/2 way around these last 2 jaybirds, and I crashed. Between this and the oddball looking fireballs I've gotten lately, me thinks I'm going to do another "fresh" install and try again. I've been doing too much experimenting with other mods on top of FotRS Ultimate, and while it might initially look like several will work, I'm not so sure now... Ratz. More "testing" time is needed, eh?...
