That's the whole idea behind most megamods, but just as it will take a lot of study and practise to utilize the modded game to it's
full potential, it is also almost a requirement to learn how to use and become familiar with TDW's Generic Patcher, as most mods now and in the foreseeable future, will be based on the "fixes" this application does to the broken original SH5 exe.

I installed Wolves of Steel, obviously did something wrong and now when I start a new campaign there is no option on the map to request a new mission.

The "NewUIs with TDC for SH5 by TheDarkWraith" looks more like what I need although the install seems complicated. It says it brings SH3 style, SH4 style, SH5 Enhanced but how do I pick and choose?

TDW's latest version of the his UI mod is already included in "TWoS" megamod. You can change the UI style between options by using the
"Options File Editor Viewer" that should have installed here - C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\Applications\OptionsFileEditorViewer as part of the "TWoS" mod.
I normally make a shortcut of the application to the desktop for ease of access. Open the Options File Editor Viewer and go to "Set path to menu.txt" and point it to C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\Menu\menu.txt
Then go to "Set SH5 install path" and point it to your C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5 folder.......Then..... select the "File - Open" option and point it to C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\Scripts\Menu\TheDarkWraithUserOptions.py, click open then...Voila!! The Options File Editor Viewer will pop up with a multitude of tabs containing enough options to keep any fiddler busy for days!

(BTW...you only have to go through this once unless you remove and reinstall the mod)
Your original question....click the Options File Editor Viewer UI tab, open the "UI style used in-game", it will be SH5 Enhanced....double click this and the other options will appear, select the choice you want and then save.
