So I tried to make it a point to track one down last couple patrols. Can't catch them from behind though, so unless you guess destination right your out of luck. I finally did get a report where it looked like I could get in front. Of course there is pea soup fog, the only way to track was underwater. So I would duck under, get a bearing off the sound contact, pop back up and move to a guessed intercept point of the contact. Trying to avoid sonar, take advantage of my low profile and 300M visability. Somehow I got right in the middle of the formation. I got a quick look at a carrier in the fog at right on 250M, just at the 'safty off' range. Fired two quick hoping to get a lucky hit, the ship disappered in the fog. Both torps hit, I dove, slowed and changed course to match the carrier hoping I had at least slowed it down. I guess I did not because I never saw it again and the task force just kept on sailing, out pacing me quickly. Should have fired a full spread, lesson learned. Looking back, I may have been able to chase on the surface the fog was so thick. Knee jerk reaction to use depth as your best defence I guess. I was never attacked and as far as I could tell the escorts never reacted to the assumed hits on the carrier.
So I guess its a tie, it is intense though, all those war ships looking for you.
