In my game EMEA edition, the -100 is used exclusively for the type XXI, taken from careers.cfg :
SubType=3
SubVersion=0
Z01=15 M01=-100
A01=9
A02=9
S01=-100
S02=-100
S03=-100
from careers_0.cfg :
SubType=-1
SubVersion=-1
Z01=15
M01=-100
A01=9
A02=9
S01=-100
