I like to play DiD...However, not actually playing the game for so long, I didn't realise that sailing close to the English east coast was no longer healthy. Four times I was greeted with the screen of death when attempting to get to my patrol area - and because it always happened the same way, with the same result (ie same dead crewmen, same damage etc), I simply thought my game was bugged and thus restarted from the last in-base save point.
Then I had an idea...searched the forum...and after looking at the _SCR.mis file, realised the true cause...
Of course, I was happy that my game had not become corrupt. So with that knowledge I decided to re-resume my DiD approach, but on my very next patrol on my way across to Scapa Flow, bet'cha can't guess what happened???
But it was a practice run.
Now, I'm back to playing DiD.
BTW, is it just me or do the Subsim forums go down around this time every day?? I started typing this over two hours ago!
