In the real U96 aswell.  There was a thread on ubi.com forums, where some guy posted photos aboard the U96 taken by the Buchheim.
Too bad I couldn´t find the thread, those photos were amazing!

And just think; in his pictorial book "U-Boat War", it's said he took *5000* photos.......unfortunately, only a fraction survived the war, afterwards, etc.
That's what we're seeing; that fraction.
