What a minute... if you wife is like mine she is the authority!!!

I have a battery back up on my sump. If the electricity is off there is a secondary pump that will not empty the sump but keep the surface from spilling over. A good deep cycle battery can run the secondary pump for 20 hours or so. This saves a flooded basement. I have been there and done that already. Ain't fun.....
